Urausu Jinja: Small shrine with a natural flower garden
Just a short walk from the roadside station and Tsurunuma Park, you will find the white torii (shrine gate) on Route 275. The hillside shrine of Uraush Jinja (浦臼神社) is famous for both its lovely ezo-engosaku (blue corydalis ambiguas) and katakuri (violet trout lilies) bloom in the forest from late April to early May. You will see adorable Ezo-risu (chipmunks).
We feel the spring of the north when we visited here.
Shrine gate (torii).
JR Gekuen-toshi line's local train runs on the foot of shrine.
Behind the shrine is a pleasant Ikoi-no-mori Park (いこいの森公園), with idyllic rural and mountain views.
