Tsurunuma Winery in Urausu: The largest vineyard in Japan
On the right bank of the Ishikari-gawa along Route 275, the agricultural town of Urausu (浦臼町) has Japan’s largest vineyard and some picnic spots around Tsurunuma (鶴沼). We recommend to visit here in spring or autumn.
If you are driving on Route 275, don’t miss the country’s largest vineyard (鶴沼ワイナリー) spreading on the hills (not open to the public), about 3km west of Tsurunuma. You can look around the vineyard along the road.
There is a small direct sales depot (9am-4pm).
