Rice Land Fukagawa: Northernmost city of the Ishikari Plain

The northernmost city of the Ishikari Plain that has a nickname Rice Land, Fukagawa City (深川市) is a jumping-off point for Rumoi, Horokanai and Hokuryu. The city has a variety of orchards, cycle paths, trails and soba restaurants.

This city is possible to explore by bicycle or car.
The tourist information office, inside JR Fukagawa Station, offers bicycle rentals (10am-4pm; ¥1000 per day) and maps.
