Sapporo Takino Suzuran Hillside Park: A great playground for families
About 20km south of Sapporo Station, the city’s largest recreation park (国営滝野すずらん丘陵公園) is a great playground for families. The pleasant hillside area has flower gardens (tulip, lily, lavender and cosmos), adventure playgrounds, park golf courses, waterfalls, walking and cycle tracks in the cozy forest. Admission is free in winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking and tube sledding.
From Makomanai subway station, take the hourly bus 106 to the Suzuran Koen higashi-guchi (すずらん公園東口: 32min; ¥440).
